Residents of Vecta House Care Home celebrated Isle of Wight Day early with a visit from the Island’s 1 and only mascot, ‘Nipper’.
Nipper scuttled around Vecta House bringing joy and laughter to both residents and staff while handing out flags.
With residents, visitors and staff all wanting to get a photo with the Isle of Wight star, Nipper took the opportunity to have a cuddle or shake claws.
Vecta House will hold a special Isle of Wight-themed day on 16th September where residents will read books about the Island’s heritage and reminisce about all the things they love about the Isle of Wight.
Tanya Everson activities coordinator at Vecta House said:
“It was really endearing to see the joy that Nipper brought when he came to visit. Everyone was laughing and joking, giving the home an even more wonderful feel.
“I would like to thank everyone involved in the Isle of Wight day for making this special occasion possible and we hope to see you again at Brading Roman Villa for more Isle of Wight celebrations.”
