Orchard House Care Home marked Alzheimer’s Awareness Month with a special music therapy event, bringing joy and engagement to residents living with dementia.
The care home welcomed local performer Paulo, whose uplifting performance provided an afternoon of entertainment and connection.
Katie Schlepp, Head of Lifestyle, has said:
“At Orchard House Care Home, we believe that music has the power to unite and heal, especially for those living with Alzheimer’s.
“Today’s event was a wonderful way to bring our community together, and we were thrilled to see our residents enjoying the experience.”
The event forms part of Orchard House’s ongoing commitment to enhancing the quality of life for residents through meaningful activities. Music therapy has been shown to have numerous benefits for individuals with Alzheimer’s, including improving mood, reducing agitation, and stimulating memory recall.
This celebration is one of many initiatives Orchard House Care Home is hosting in honour of Alzheimer’s Month, raising awareness and fostering support for those impacted by the disease.
