Little Dessert Shop, which operates in more than 20 locations across the country, is set to open its first store on the Isle of Wight.
Visitors to Sandown will soon be able to enjoy brownies, crepes, gelato, patisseries, sundaes and more whilst overlooking the sea close to Sandown Pier.
Work is underway to transform 9 Pier Street from a former seaside smoothie kiosk into a luxury eatery specialising in all types of puddings. The new store is expected to create up to 6 jobs and is understood to be opening within the next 5 weeks or so – just in time for the summer season.
It is proposed that the dessert outlet will be open between the hours of 11:00 and 23:00 Monday to Saturday, and 11:00 to 22:00 on Sundays and Bank Holidays.
Planning permission to install bi-fold doors and signage at the front of the shop has been submitted to the Isle of Wight Council this week.
News of yet another chain opening in Sandown is a great achievement for the town, which is undergoing somewhat of a redevelopment transformation. Premier Inn are building a 100-bed hotel just 2 doors down from Little Dessert Shop and the remodelling of Sandham Gardens is progressing well. Work has also begun on the former Ocean Hotel and King’s Bar.
