‘Closing Down’ signs have appeared at Shoe Zone in Newport – the firm’s last outlet on the Island – but the future of the shop remains unclear amid speculation that it may be moving to new premises.
The firm’s Ryde outlet was closed last year and was followed by the news of Shoe Zone in Shanklin closing down last month.
Now, the new ‘Closing Down’ signage at the last remaining Shoe Zone on the Island in Newport High Street has prompted fears of another impending closure.
However, enquiries with staff at the shop have suggested that they may be moving to new premises in Newport – although a new location has not been confirmed.
Island Echo has approached Shoe Zone for comment but has yet to receive a response.
Doing the decent thing and making way for a much needed charity shop. Thank you Shoezone.

Yes, and as they are not afraid of breaking the law by setting foot on our shores, then as we witness, they are unlikely to have any regard for our laws once here.
Still the shortage of children will be addressed but be careful what you wish for, for instead of being useful, many are just taking from the ‘pot’ never giving anything other than scattered children hence foster homes ad’s constantly begging ‘anyone’ to take on unwanted offspring now

They have heard of the increase in car parking charges and like every one else are saying enough is enough.

So the staff said they’re relocating…I’m not even a journalist and can get more information by just asking!
The last time it was closing down it was just a sales stunt because they were doing some decorating

I overheard Newport Shoezone Manager telling a customer that they are relocating to somewhere bigger, by end of 2023… plenty of empty shops to choose from!!
Always good to have the inside track from an informer with their ear to the ground. I will be making further inquiries later today. Then I will set my little gray cells to work.
