Shoe Zone in Shanklin is to shut with ‘Closing Down’ signs now present in the windows of the once-popular shoe store.
It is thought that the Regent Street shop will shut it’s doors at the end of the Summer.
This week’s news follows the closure of Shoe Zone’s branch in Ryde last year. It is understood that, as with the Ryde branch, the current employees in Shanklin will lose their jobs.
The forthcoming closure will leave the company’s Newport branch as the only remaining Shoe Zone site on the Island.
It’s bad news for Shanklin as the closing down sale comes not long after Toymaster announced its closure, as previously reported by Island Echo.

Turn the building into flats for locals with the lease preventing second home owners from buying.
Are we living in Soviet Russia? Why shouldn’t second home owners be free to purchase a grotty flat on Regent Street. Hardly the most glamorous location but each to their own. “Fready” seems to want to force locals into living in a grotty ghetto. Maybe he has an evil plan. I think we should hear it.
Sadly more likely flats for dusky dingy arrivals in another HMO
You know the high street is screwed when shoe zone is going.
its not the high street its regent street
Selling the wrong stuff. Need to be selling designer trainers, grey joggers, matching hoodies, and vapes.
Get banged up, you can get all those clothes for free.
They’ll all be walking bare foot in Shanklin soon, you mark my words.
They already are if you go to the beach
Could be worse, could be a clothes shop closing down.
bare foot is better than bare a*se’d
Lol
