UPDATED: Emergency services are attending a road traffic collision involving 2 vehicles and a motorcycle on Binstead Road, Ryde tonight (Thursday).
2 fire appliances from the Isle of Wight Fire and Rescue Service are at the scene amid fears the motorcyclist is trapped underneath a car. Ambulance crews are also in attendance, alongside Police.
The incident has occurred near to Ryde House between Queens Road and Ringwood Road.
The main road has been closed and motorists are being diverted through Binstead estate. Motorists are advised the avoid the area.
UPDATE @ 21:20 – Binstead Road has now reopened in both directions.
The incident, which has involved a scooter, a Peugeot 206 and possibly 1 other car was not as serious as first feared by the emergency services. The scene has now been cleared.
1 person is to be conveyed to hospital by ambulance.
The Isle of Wight Fire and Rescue Service has stood down and both appliances have returned to station.
