UPDATED: Emergency services are attending a road traffic collision involving a motorcycle and car on Fairlee Road in Newport this afternoon (Friday).
Traffic is delayed in the area following the incident at the junction with Halberry Lane.
A silver Peugeot has collided with a motorcycle which has then been pushed under the front of the vehicle, however the motorcyclist is not trapped and is described as ‘walking wounded’.
The Isle of Wight Ambulance Service and Police are on scene.
Motorists are advised to avoid the area.
UPDATE @ 16:20 – Recovery of the vehicles has been arranged.
Traffic is said to be at a standstill and backing up to Lushington Hill, Wootton.
UPDATE @ 17:30 – The scene has now been cleared and traffic is flowing once again, however the area remains busy this evening.
2 people have been treated by paramedics at the scene.
