Team GB Double Trampolinist, Otis McAuliffe, paid a special visit to Dover Park Primary School last week, leaving a lasting impact on the pupils. The school community was buzzing with excitement as they welcomed the world-class athlete, who truly inspired and motivated the children during an unforgettable assembly. McAuliffe’s visit was made even more remarkable as the students at Dover Park had been diligently raising funds through sponsorship leading up to the event. Their hard work paid off, as a staggering £2,350 was raised, which will help support unsponsored athletes and benefit the school and its children. The headteacher of Dover Park, Jon Kirby, expressed his delight with McAuliffe’s visit, stating:
“At Dover Park, we strive to provide an environment where children are encouraged to fulfil their dreams and to foster the next generation of successful individuals. We pride ourselves on our school values of motivation, enjoyment, aspiration, independence, respect and perseverance – all of which have been demonstrated by Otis, on his journey to World Class competition. The children were in awe of his achievements and hung on to every word he spoke.”
Otis’ powerful message resonated deeply with the young minds of Dover Park, encouraging them to dream big and reach for the stars. The impact of McAuliffe’s presence was evident, as the children were left with newfound inspiration and determination. McAuliffe commented upon the fantastic behaviour of children at Dover Park and mentioned how happy and engaged the children are. He said:
“They are a lovely bunch of children and their inquisitive questions were very well thought out.”
