MORE THAN 120 ANIMALS HELPED BY FRIENDS OF THE ANIMALS IN THEIR BUSIEST YEAR EVER

Friends of the Animals helped save more than 120 animals in total last year – the busiest 12 months on record for the Isle of Wight charity. 2023 proved to be a year of great demand with more and more people contacting the Newport-based charity for help in so many ways. It’s said that last year was the busiest for the charity since it was founded 33 years ago, with the cost of living crisis and the COVID pandemic having had a detrimental effect on not only people, but animals too. In 2023, Friends of the Animals rescued and/or rehomed 76 Dogs, 3 Cats, 4 Rabbits, 6 Foxes, 4 Swans and 5 cygnets, 16 Birds, 6 Hens, 1 Cockerel and 2 Guinea pigs. In addition, Friends of the Animals has been able to offer emergency foster with 3 rabbits and 12 long-term foster dogs under their care.
