Esplanade have revealed that they are now the sole retailer for MOKE on the Isle of Wight – and already have 2 of these Great British icons in their Cowes showroom.
Driving in convoy, the new MOKEs were collected by the Esplanade team last Thursday from Poole. Understandably these eye-catching cars attracted quite a bit of attention whenever they stopped, including at Lymington Ferry.
Since MOKE announced plans to relaunch in the UK interest has been high. Returning 56 years after first gracing British roads, this upgraded version sees a refined motor and chassis to meet modern buyer requirements. Now with full, official production of the MOKE in the UK, a new generation of enthusiasts can be introduced to its open-air thrills.
Brendan Cole, Esplanade Sales Manager says:
“We are really excited to play host to the MOKE here at Esplanade. It is a perfect fit for our showroom and will give Islanders the opportunity to own their very own iconic, fun, utility vehicle that is perfect for the Isle of Wight driver wanting something a little different and quirky.”
Also arriving in the Summer will be the brand new all-electric MOKE.

Great always fancied a Mini Moke
Good luck to anyone driving one of these on the island’s roads. No crash protection whatsoever!!!
Then don’t buy one. Just sit at home in your bubble wrap.
The Military one is £28,995.00
I’ll have 2 please! 😉
Always loved the Moke ever since they appeared in The Prisoner
Good luck sitting in these death traps with our constant crashes reported …and not obv on our already congested roads.
posing out at speed will be the way these will go!
No point thumbing down you sad kw as its FACT
You really are a miserable old whatsit, aren’t you? You don’t seem to have a single nice word to say on any of the stories on this site.
Congested roads? Sounds like you’ve never been off the island.
There are some nice EV versions of these. Driving along in silence in the sun along the sea front. Very relaxing and cool. And the best bit, so cheap to run. And on the island, who needs a range of 100’s of miles for a leisure vehicle.
If there are even remotely like the original that I drove in the early eighties, than they are shockingly bad to say the least. No thanks!
