The driver of a Honda Civic has escaped any serious injury after rolling the car onto its side between Wroxall and Ventnor tonight (Sunday).
Police and the Isle of Wight Ambulance Service were called to the single vehicle incident on the B3327 shortly before 23:20.
Crews from the Isle of Wight Fire and Rescue Service were also mobilised to the crash for scene safety.
Island Echo understands the driver swerved to avoid an animal in the road, resulting in the hatchback car coming to rest on its side and blocking the carriageway.
Paramedics have conveyed the driver and his female passenger to St Mary’s Hospital. Both have sustained minor injuries.
The road has now been cleared and is once again open in both directions.
