The Minghella family have announced the death of talented jazz singer Dr Edana Minghella, aged 63.
Taking to Twitter, family members – including Edana’s partner, Heather – described the Islander as a woman of style, love, passion, joy and curiosity.
Edana died on Wednesday whilst in Liguria, Italy. She had privately been battling cancer.
As well as being a member of the well-known Minghella family, Edana established her own popularity and standing in life as a jazz singer. She also worked in the mental health sector.
A tribute page has been established at https://www.minghella.com/remembering-edana/.
Edana’s partner, Heather, and all the family are so sorry to have to tell you that Edana died on Wednesday night in her beloved Liguria. She was a woman of style, love, passion, joy, curiosity and furious politics, and she will be forever loved and missed.https://t.co/L1if7W1TEq

R.i.P lovely, now with Gloria and Anthony , sincere condolences to family and friends
How lovely to have a quality useful foreign family living and adding to the Islands history rather than those who only arrive to take.
RIP
Not a very pleasant comment to make here, at this time.
Pretty much standard from “Mrs T”. Uses any excuse to post far right xenophobic vitriol.
Odd you think that Colin, as I thought Mrs t was praising the family and spot on with the perhaps ill timed end of the sentence.
They are not a “foreign” family, you should be ashamed of your comment.
As there was no intention on my part to offend anyone I apologise and have tried to remove post but can’t.
I have the greatest respect for the family and knew them when they had a cafe in Ryde many years ago
Mrs T: “How lovely to have a quality useful foreign family”
On what planet was that not going to cause offence?
I totally agree. Shameful. How embarrassing. And totally inappropriate. And just totally barbaric and strange. R.I.P Edana.
Edana’s father ,Eddie,. was born in Glasgow. Her mother ,Gloria, in Leeds.
