A sign has been erected around a tree that has been damaged in Northwood blaming ‘mindless idiots’ for damaging the tree and calling it ‘a Police matter’.
The sign – which appears to have been made by Northwood House & Park – reads:
“JUST WHO WOULD WANT TO DO THIS TO A BEAUTIFUL TREE?”
“MINDLESS IDIOTS IN OUR COMMUNITY, THAT’S WHO. SHAME ON YOU”
1 Island Echo reader got in touch to express her view of the matter, saying:
“Shameful and shameless behaviour like this demeans us all.”
No doubt it will be the islands chavs and their offspring funded by your taxes, you see them everywhere littering ,vandalising, etc. Little hope for the next generation given what their parents tend to be like.
Children from less well off families are usually more likely to be more respectful of others and their surroundings.

My pets, friend’s and I love that park and the tree’s in it. Let me get my hands on ’em that did this!!
And what would you do then? Commit the crime of GBH perhaps? Violence only begets more violence. Try to take a more civilizeed approach. Education is the answer. That and actually having a police presence on the streets.
