A memorial service for John Frederick Howe, a lifelong public servant in the West Wight community, will be held at Christ Church in Totland Bay on Saturday 10th January at 11:00.
John Howe passed away on 14th November. He was widely known across the Isle of Wight for his decades of dedicated service, including over 50 years as a Totland Parish Councillor and 20 years representing the area on the Isle of Wight Council.
Mr Howe’s son, Paul, who now lives in the United States, has reached out to the community in the hope that Islanders whose lives were touched by his father’s work will be able to attend the memorial.
Paul Howe has said:
“My father’s life and service were deeply rooted in the Island, specifically the West Wight community. His work touched countless individuals and families.
“Our hope is to reach as many Islanders as possible whose lives were impacted by my father’s years of public service, community involvement, and quiet dedication, so that they may have the opportunity to attend and remember him at the service.”
The memorial will be held at Christ Church, Alum Bay New Road, Totland Bay, PO39 0ES.
