A man seen holding a ‘bladed implement’ whilst chasing another man led to a Police response to Westridge in Ryde last night (Monday), with a subsequent property search in Sandown resulting in 2 arrests.
Hampshire & Isle of Wight Constabulary was called to Westridge Golf Centre in Ryde shortly after 20:10 when a man was seen holding a bladed implement whilst chasing another man.
Enquiries led officers to Sandown where a premises search was undertaken at Fairfield Gardens, off Perowne Way. No fewer than 7 Police vehicles descended on the area before leaving the scene at around 21:40.
It has been confirmed this morning that a quantity of cannabis was seized during the search, with 2 men arrested.
Both males, aged 19 and from the Isle of Wight, have been arrested on suspicion of offences including possession of an offensive weapon in a public place, affray and possession with intent to supply a Class B drug.
Both remain in custody at Newport Police Station at this time.
The male seen being chased at Westridge was not injured, Police say.

What is becoming of this Island
Low life moving here to avoid confrontation with even greater imported drug dealing low life taking over their patch.
Doubt it it seems all are island born and bred!
Nope… wrong!! Just home grown idiots.
Monkey see, Monkey do
Sooner we move away from the American “war on drugs” and back to the old British system of treatment instead the better tbh.
Weed shouldn’t even be illegal (I’ve seen prescription drugs and booze cause FAR more issues over the years).
There’s a reason you see junkies drinking strong lager when they’re rattling. Works on exactly the same part of the brain. Every smackhead I’ve ever met started off as a drinker. Doesn’t mean I think banning booze would work!
Sounds like you lot need to get a job!!! What you read isn’t all true!!! Who cares if their born here or born on the mainland??? Is that what’s important here? What did this guy to be chased in the first place??? The police here are useless
I wish these wannabe gangsters would grow up. Go and live in Columbia and get first hand experience about the corrosive effect drug dealing has on society.
You might think twice then before joining the downward spiral to prison or worse.
Their families need to sort them out before they get into a lifetime of crime.
Seven police vehicles; really?
This is what happens when you mess with drugs, it will sometimes end your life…..keep clear of scumbags…
