MAN CHARGED AFTER BEING FOUND WITH KNIFE AND DUMBBELL BAR IN RYDE TOWN CENTRE

A man found with a dumbbell bar and a knife in the middle of Ryde Town Centre has been charged and will appear in court later this month. 30-year-old Sean John Buckland, of High Street in Ryde, was arrested by Police on Friday and subsequently charged with possession of an offensive weapon. He has been bailed to appear before the Isle of Wight Magistrates Court on 26th January. Officers from Ryde’s Neighbourhood Policing Team also arrested a man for possession with intent to supply Class A drugs – thought to be cocaine – in the town centre on Friday. He has been released under investigation whilst enquiries continue. On Saturday, officers arrested a man who was recalled to prison in Ryde Town Centre.
