An 18-year-old man arrested in connection with the stabbing of a teenage boy in Ryde at the weekend has been bailed.
Police cordoned off an area of the seawall between Appley and Springvale yesterday (Sunday) following an incident during the early hours of the morning, in which a 16-year-old boy was stabbed.
As first reported by Island Echo, the teenager suffered stab wounds to his abdomen. He was taken to St Mary’s Hospital for treatment, but thankfully his injuries are not life-threatening.
An 18-year-old local man was arrested on suspicion of causing grievous bodily harm with intent. He was questioned by detectives yesterday but released on bail last night, with enquiries into the incident continuing.
He is due to return to Newport Police Station on 29th November.
