A male being chased by Police has ended up in the River Medina this afternoon (Monday).
Island Echo understands that officers were in foot pursuit of the suspect, who ‘ran out of road’ and ended up in the water at Coppins Bridge.
More than 7 Police vehicles have made the short journey from Newport Police Station, taking up position in the middle of the roundabout.
The involved male has since been detained and handcuffed and is currently sitting outside Church on the Roundabout on a picnic bench.
UPDATE @ 16:45 – Police have confirmed that 2 males have been arrested on suspicion of conspiracy to supply Class A drugs.
