A man who went missing in Newport during the early hours of this morning (Friday) has been found safe and well.
Police were alerted to the situation sometime before 04:00 and launched an immediate search for the high risk individual in the area of St Mary’s Hospital.
The assistance of WightSAR was soon requested with volunteers assisting Police in searching the hospital grounds and surrounding areas as the sun rose.
The male was found alive and well, without injury, at just gone 05:00.
Search teams were stood down soon after.
