A major crack within the pipework of a Council-run swimming pool has led to its partial closure.
It has been confirmed that the small pool at Newport’s Medina Leisure Centre is to remain closed until at least the Autumn to allow repair works to be undertaken.
The extent of the crack and its position means it has proved difficult to repair and therefore the closure is nessarary.
The main pool remains open as normal.
Swimmers are advised that swimming lessons held on a Saturday will now take place in the shallow end of the main pool, with Aqua Babes baby swim lessons also moved to the main pool on Mondays and Thursdays.
All school swimming lessons will continue as normal, but in the main pool.
