A man has escaped serious injury after smashing into the side of Red Funnel’s Red Jet 4 this afternoon (Saturday).
At just after midday a jet ski collided with the hi-speed vessel near Fawley, as caught on camera by Richard Bache who was travelling on Red Funnel’s car ferry service.
Amazingly, the jet skier escaped any lasting injury and was swiftly picked up by another jet skier. The captain of Red Jet 4 swung the vessel around to ensure the jet skier was safe.
Police are now looking into the incident and a report is expected to be passed to the Marine Accident Investigation Branch (MAIB).
