It’s a right royal flush of confusion as mysteriously decorated toilets have popped up at various locations across the Isle of Wight overnight – and no one knows who’s behind the cheeky installations.
At least 4 loos have been spotted so far – including at Brading Downs Viewpoint, outside Harvey Browns at Hale Common, Northwood House in Cowes and at Ventnor Park.
Each display features a full toilet setup with a different design. At Harvey Brown’s, the toilet has been made into a motorcycle!
At Brading, a tongue-in-cheek message reads:
“Take my picture and share, but please don’t touch me.
“Here for one day only – I’m just passing through like a number two”.
The sudden appearance of the lavatorial installations has sparked intrigue online, with many sharing photos on social media already this morning (Tuesday) and speculating about the motive behind the bizarre art.
The spectacle has drawn comparisons to the mysterious monolith that appeared on Compton Beach back in December 2020, as first reported by Island Echo.

Is the gold one amongst them?
Our very own Banksy’s, how lovely. How about one on the beach, depicting dead fish and highlighting the state of the water effluence? Or one outside a food bank depicting open mouths? Fun could be had with the statements…so much is going down the pan.
Fly tipping pretending to be art?
Beats paying 50p
Lol
I love this idea
