The Isle of Wight Fire and Rescue Service has responded to a residential property fire in Newport this evening (Monday).
Crews from Newport, Cowes and East Cowes were mobilised to Trevor Road near Carisbrooke at shortly before 18:10.
Island Echo is told that a chip pan fire broke out in the kitchen.
A rapid response paramedic from the Isle of Wight Ambulance Service was also sent to the scene, but has since stood down.
Police have arrived at Trevor Road and are liaising with fire crews, who are preparing to also stand down from the incident.
UPDATE – It has been confirmed that 3 appliances responded to the fire as it was feared persons were trapped inside.
Upon arrival, a chip pan fire was discovered with a heavily smoke-logged property.





























































































Just get up ur chips from a supermarket.why are people still cooking with oil its obv times need too move on! Not that expensive and dont need a gang of firemen too cook them
