Newport & Carisbrooke Community Council are hosting an interactive Living History exhibit of trench life during Christmas on the Western Front in 1914. Time Jump Histories will be held on Thursday 14th December at 64 High Street, between 09:00 and 17:00. The Christmas truce will be brought to life by telling stories from the men who were there and using their accounts. Time Jump Histories will include:
- A full day of entertainment
- Our very own British Tommy in the full 1914 battle dress uniform,
- A 6-foot section of a trench with a dugout.
- A vast selection of props and artefacts.
- Timetabled soldier school.
- Timetabled Christmas truce stories
No booking is required, and it is possible to simply turn up on the day.
