Firefighters tackled a lineside fire on the Isle of Wight Steam Railway near Ashey earlier this afternoon (Sunday).
Crews from Newport and Ryde rushed to the scene on the railway line near Deacons Lane in Ashey. It was at around 11:45 that the alarm was raised.
Firefighters used a single hose reel jet to tackle the blaze, bringing the incident to a quick conclusion.
Those on scene stood down at around 12:20.

I was on the train last Wednesday, we had to stop and the crew put the fire out.
No bid deal is it.
Slow news day?
