Ryde Inshore Rescue has ensured the safety of 6 persons on board a 22ft motor boat that ran aground on Ryde Sands earlier this afternoon (Sunday).
Whilst on station conducting a Sunday watch, the volunteer crew of Ryde’s independent lifeboat spotted ‘Triple Echo’ hard aground on Ryde Sands.
Launching Ryde Rescue 1, the lifeboat crew made progress to the casualty vessel’s position to ensure all on board were safe and the boat was not at risk of taking on any water.
After conducting the necessary checks Ryde Rescue 1 stood down and returned to station, whilst those on board the motor boat waited for the tide to turn before making their way into Ryde Harbour.
