This is your weekly round-up of some of the latest court cases heard at the Isle of Wight Magistrates Court.

Monday 3rd May – Friday 7th May 2021
• Robert Church, 32, of Steephill Road in Shanklin, admitted criminal damage and using violence to secure entry. A suspended sentence was activated with 10 weeks to serve. He was fined £120 and ordered to pay £85 costs with a £34 surcharge.
• David Clive Francis Johns, 54, of St John’s Road in Shanklin, admitted failing to comply with the requirements of a community order, namely failing to keep in contact and notify of a change of address. The original order was revoked with a new community order made for 2 years. He was ordered to pay £60 costs and complete 15 rehabilitation days.
• Nicholas Steven Smith, 51, of Witan Gate in Milton Keynes, Buckinghamshire pleaded guilty to drink driving. (89). He was disqualified from driving for 22 months and ordered to pay costs of £85 with a £95 surcharge. He must also complete 60 hours of unpaid work.
• Beau Henry Brown, 30, of Hill Lane in Freshwater admitted drug driving (cannabis and cocaine). He was disqualified from driving for 3 years and ordered to complete 60 hours of unpaid work, as well as paying £85 costs with a £95 surcharge.
• Ben Haxell, 20, of Lake Green Road in Lake was fined £60 for possession of a Class B drug – cannabis. He was ordered to pay costs of £85 and a surcharge of £34.
• Lewis Brendan Morera-Morgan, 20, of Trinity Road in Ventnor was ordered to pay £500 in compensation after pleading guilty to criminal damage. He was also ordered to pay costs of £250.
