This is your weekly round-up of some of the latest court cases heard at the Isle of Wight Magistrates Court.

Monday 26th April – Friday 30th April 2021
• Matthew James Oxley, 34, of Guadaloupe Road in Sandown admitted failing to comply with a community order as part of a suspended sentence, namely failing to attend a planned telephone appointment and failing to keep in touch since February 2021. His original suspended sentence of 4 months, suspended for 12 months, for possession of a bladed article was extended by 4 months. He was ordered to pay costs of £60.
• Luke Randall, 42, of Pallance Road in Cowes pleaded guilty to criminal damage and harassment. He was ordered to pay £1,000 compensation and complete 80 hours of unpaid work with 15 rehabilitation days. He was also made subject to a retraining order for 2 years.
• Samuel Vincent Rolfe, 20, of May Place in Basingstoke, was ordered to pay compensation of £3,000 after pleading guilty to criminal damage at St Mary’s Hospital. He was ordered to pay a further £250 in compensation for criminal damage to a live link machine at HMP Winchester.
• Andrew Cummings-Brown, 69, of Grange Road in East Cowes was fined £100 for assaulting a Police Constable. He was ordered to pay £100 compensation to PC Butler as well as paying £85 costs with a £34 surcharge.
• Dominic Dunford, 22, of St Johns Hill in Ryde, was made subject to a 3 month curfew for assaulting a Police Constable. He was ordered to pay £85 costs with a £95 surcharge.
• Lewis Hartley Connor Prior, 18, of Swanmore Road in Ryde, was fined £80 for cultivating 2 cannabis plants. He was ordered to pay £85 costs with a £34 surcharge. There was no separate penalty for possession of a Class B drug – cannabis.
• David Frampton, 49, of Sydney Close in Newport, was found guilty of drink driving (83). He was handed an immediate disqualification from driving but the case was adjourned for a pre-sentence report to be compiled. He also pleaded guilty to resisting arrest, assaulting an emergency worker and using threatening/abusive/insulting words or behaviour with intent to cause fear of violence.
• Tomas D Bateman, 31, of The Square in Freshwater admitted criminal damage. He was fined £40 and ordered to pay compensation of £60. He was also ordered to pay £85 costs with a £34 surcharge.
• Jayden Nasby, 23, of Birch Gardens in Binstead pleaded guilty to drug driving (cannabis). He was fined £120 and handed a 12-month disqualification from driving, as well as being ordered to pay £85 costs with a £34 surcharge.
• Lachen Connor Downs, 23, of Tennyson Road in Cowes, was given a 3 month prison sentence, suspended for 18 months, for disclosing a private sexual photograph without consent. He was given a restraining order, as well as being ordered to complete 25 rehabilitation days and pay costs of £85 with a £128 surcharge.
• Paul Darren Dowsey, 49, of Quay Street in Newport, pleaded guilty to causing harassment, alarm or distress. He was made subject to a community order with a requirement to complete 60 hours of unpaid work and 15 rehabilitation days. He was also handed a restraining order and told to pay costs of £85 with a £95 surcharge.
• Harry Rae White, 20, of Atkinson Drive in Newport, pleaded guilty to being drunk and disorderly in a public place. He was given a 6 month conditional discharge and ordered to pay £85 costs with a £22 surcharge.
• Kenneth Oatley, 41, of Rink Road in Ryde, pleaded guilty to actual bodily harm. He was ordered to carry out 120 hours of unpaid work and pay costs of £300 with a £95 surcharge.
