Monday 1st January – Friday 5th January 2024
• Daniel Drake, 40, of Holyrood Street, Newport pleaded guilty to 2x theft from a shop and common assault. He was handed a 6-week prison sentence. • Paul Smart, 37, of Fort Street, Sandown pleaded guilty to theft from a shop. He was ordered to pay a £80 fine, £4 compensation, £85 costs and a £32 usrcharge. • Terence Perkins, 38, of Orchardleigh Road, Shanklin pleaded guilty to criminal damage. He was fined £80 and ordered to pay £85 costs. • Martin D’arcy, 54, of Fort Street, Sandown pleaded guilty to using threatening / abusive / insulting words / behaviour to cause harassment / alarm / distress. He was handed a 12-month community order with 40 hours of unpaid work attached. He was ordered to pay £85 costs. • Luke Burdett, 30, of Spanners Close, Chale Green pleaded guilty to driving whilst disqualified and drug driving (cannabis). He was handed a 12-week prison sentence and disqualified from driving for 1,138 days. • Emma Knight, 19, of St. Johns Road, Ryde was ordered to pay £204 compensation for the offence of theft from a shop. • Keith Wilson, 47, of Landguard Road, Shanklin pleaded guilty to possession of a controlled drug of Class B – Cannabis / Cannabis Resin. He was fined £80 and ordered to pay £85 costs with a £32 surcharge. • Jack Williams, 26, of HMP Isle Of Wight pleaded guilty to assault by beating of an emergency worker. He was handed a 10-week concurrent prison sentence. • Keith Menzies, 63, of Preston Close, Ryde pleaded guilty to drink driving (55). He was banned from driving for 12 months, fined £120 and ordered to pay £85 costs with a £48 surcharge.
Single Justice Procedure Cases
• Jason McTaggart, of Gully Road, Seaview, was handed 6 points on his licence for using a handheld mobile phone/device whilst driving a motor vehicle. He was ordered to pay a £220 fine, £90 costs and a £88 surcharge. • Jonathan Ashenhurst, of Park Road in Ryde, was handed 3 points on his licence and fined £40 and speeding. He was ordered to pay £90 costs and a £16 surcharge. • Christopher Miller, of Atkinson Drive in Newport, was handed 6 penalty points on his licence and fined £660 for using a motor vehicle without third party insurance. He was ordered to pay £90 costs with a £264 surcharge. • Bethany Amie Lavell, of Kingfisher Close in Newport, was fined £220 for keeping a motor vehicle which does not meet insurance requirements. She was ordered to pay £100 costs and a £88 surcharge. • Kelly Lee Price, of Winston Road in Newport, was fined £660 for keeping a vehicle without a valid vehicle licence (tax). She was ordered to pay £201.25 in back duty and £85 costs. • Joshua Bowen, of Green Street in Ryde, was handed 3 penalty points on his licence for driving a motor vehicle otherwise than in accordance with a licence. He was ordered to pay a £40 fine, £44 costs and a £16 surcharge. • Benjamin Ratcliffee, of Green Street in Ryde, was handed 6 penalty points and a £220 fine for using a handheld mobile phone/device whilst driving. He was ordered to pay £90 costs with a £88 surcharge. • Lauren Ford, of Monks Walk in East Cowes, was fined £1,100 and handed 6 penalty points on her licence for using a passenger vehicle with tyres with insufficient tread and using a motor vehicle without third party insurance. She was ordered to pay £85 costs and a £440 surcharge. • Lois Beuker, of Mill Street in Newport, was handed 3 penalty points for speeding. She was ordered to pay £90 costs and a £16 surcharge. • Thomas Fulljames, of Gunville Road in Newport, was ordered to pay a fine of £220 and £53.34 in back duty for keeping a vehicle without a valid vehicle licence (tax). He was ordered to pay costs of £85. • Victoria Long, of Chichester Walk in Newport, was fined £220 and ordered to pay £40 back duty for keeping a vehicle without a valid vehicle licence (tax). She was ordered to pay £85 costs. • Adrian Lusted, of Colenutts Road in Ryde, was fined £192 and handed 6 penalty points for using a mobile phone whilst driving. He was ordered to pay costs of £90 and a £77 surcharge fee. • Richard Pedley, of Clarence Road in Newport, was fined £250 and handed 6 penalty points for using a motor vehicle on a road/public place without 3rd party insurance. He was ordered to pay costs of £90 and a £100 surcharge fee.

























































































Luke B, banned when already banned • 2021-Luke Adam Charles Burdett, 28, 26-week prison sentence for 3 breaches of a non-molestation order. driving without insurance, driving without a licence and possession of a Class A drug.
• 2023 -Luke Burdett, 29, pleaded guilty to driving whilst disqualified, drug driving (cannabis) and driving without insurance. He was banned from driving for 12 months, fined £50 and made subject to a 18-month community order with 10 rehabilitation days attached.
Will he learn? No. Probably more. No excuses when bus is only £2. Send another one to Rawanda.
Because the law is weak in the UK, people keep re-offending.
