There are just 2 sessions left in May for free allergy awareness training for food businesses – but you haven’t got long to sign up.
The webinar training is suitable for anyone who owns, manages or works in a food-related business. It covers allergies, Coeliac Disease and intolerances; allergans and the law including Natasha’s Law and controls and contamination.
Only food businesses registered with the council’s Regulatory Services can apply to attend – you can register with the service here. Registering your food business is free and once you have done so you can apply to attend the Allergy Awareness training.
Spaces are limited to 30 places per webinar and must be booked in advance. The 75-minute long zoom webinars will take place between 09:30 and 11:00 on the following days:

In addition, a further discounted fully accredited allergen management Training Qualification has been made available to our Island businesses.
If you wish to gain an accredited allergen management award at a discounted rate, the Council can offer a further training course at a special rate of £30 per delegate.
The Industry standard Highfield accredited Level 2 award will enable businesses and their staff to be compliant under the Food Information Regulations and the new Natasha’s Law (PPDS) regulations. The qualification will be assessed by a short multiple-choice examination.
The half-day face to face training will take place at County Hall on either Monday 16th May at 14:00 or Tuesday 17th May at 13:00 – confirmation on booking.
