Ventnor Coastguard Rescue Team have investigated reports of a large cliff fall in the South Wight this evening (Tuesday).
Solent Coastguard tasked officers to the area following a 999 call reporting a cliff fall.
It didn’t take long to find the precarious section of coast at Atherfield, between Brighstone and Blackgang.
The area was checked and safety advice given to those in the area, with the Isle of Wight Council informed of the situation.
Ventnor Coastguards are reminding Islanders to keep well inland of the area and if you see a cliff or rock fall in the vicinity of people, dial 999 and ask for Coastguard.

I expect the far lefties will blame it on brexit, their obsessed with falling off cliffs…
I expect the far righties will probably bring up brexit, their obsessed with making everything about brexit.
As England and our Isle grows ever smaller, and we import ever more, social distancing may have to be reduced to a lesser distance soon.
