Lake Parish Councillor Paul Brading, with former teacher Jim Edmonds, recently presented staff and pupils at Broadlea Primary School with 5 iPads for their new library and after-school club. Cllr Brading – who was taught by Mr Edmonds when the school opened as Lake Middle at the start of the 1970s – said:
“It was good to catch up with Mr Edmonds, and we certainly didn’t have any of this IT or electronic learning aids when the school opened 50 years ago.”
The Parish Council has worked with Broadlea School – where Cllr Brading is also a school governor – on a number of community projects, including Remembrance and Royal events, as well as the setting up of the library. Cllr Brading concluded:
“Like countless others, I benefitted from the opportunities that this school has provided, and I’m delighted that the Parish Council is able to support the School in this way.”
