41-year-old Daniel Kilshaw, a well-known local thief with over 30 previous convictions, has pleaded guilty to aggravated vehicle taking and dangerous driving and will now go before the Crown Court.
As previously reported by Island Echo, Police were called to Bettesworth Road in Ryde on Saturday afternoon when a car collided with a wall at the junction with Southfield Gardens.
It soon became clear that the black Citroen C2 had been stolen from the Shanklin area the night before.
Kilshaw, of Fort Street in Sandown, was arrested at the scene and taken into custody where he was later charged with aggravated vehicle taking, dangerous driving, drink driving, driving without a licence and driving without insurance.
The prolific offender was remanded and put before Portsmouth Magistrates Court yesterday (Monday) where he pleaded guilty to all 5 charges against him.
The case has now been sent up to the Crown Court with Kilshaw further remanded in custody to appear at the Isle of Wight Crown Court for sentencing on 27th September.

I took this guy off the street, so he wasn’t homeless looked after him and made sure he had a roof over his head!!! And he robbed me whilst he was looking after my dog when I was fishing!!!! He broke Open my bedroom window and stole my savings!! Just so he could go get some heroine, I only helped him out because I used to be a junkie and was being kind to him, when he moved in his true colours started showing… he’s a thief, a liar, and a complete heroine addict!!! I don’t mean to talk I’ll of him, but, he’s a complete prxxk who gives junkies a bad name and that’s saying something!!!!!

Defamation. if he wasn’t convicted of any of those things you mention then he could sue you.
So who pays to get the wall repaired?
The owners building insurance MAY cover it, but if not – the owner pays.
He’s just an oxygen thief. Needs a long prison sentence but he won’t get one. Judges are not fit for purpose
Our spineless judges continually give meaningless sentences. They prefer easier option, of letting the public suffer from there ineptitude.
Complete waste or air needs prison
Probably be 2years suspended sentence, 30 days drug rehabilitation, 40 hours unpaid work, £85 fine, £35 costs…
Shame there is no picture of Kilshaw so we can spot the NSoaB before he robs someone else. Can’t we bring back deportation for this type of scum, there must be a deserted island suitable for them to be dropped off.

He probably breathed a sigh of relief when told he would be sentenced on the IOW.
30 offences??? Seriously??? This bloke needs intervention. Our judicial system needs a massive overhaul. Once upon a time, many years ago you committed a crime you did the time and most people were reformed, put back into society to make a difference and never heard of again. These days there’s nothing, no punishments no Repercussions. What about the victims of crime? What about society?
It has always been the same with kilshaw he stabbed my family member in the back and punctured his lung when he was a teen, got minimal sentence and hasnt stopped his crimewave since, still abuses us in the street when he sees us, he is scum and needs locking up
i’ll never forget that night. but i will say i know he dropped the soap while in prison for it if you know what i mean
