Sandown’s New Year’s Day fireworks display will return to mark the start of 2024 on Monday evening. Weather permitting, the fireworks will be set off from the end of the pier at 18:00 on 1st January. To allow safe spectator viewing, the Esplanade will be closed between Pier Street and Esplanade Road from 16:30 until approximately 18:30. Paul Coueslant, Chair of Sandown Carnival which organises the event, says:
“Our spectacular display is usually visible all along the Bay and entices residents and visitors to get out and celebrate after Christmas. We’re delighted to put it on as our first event of 2024”.
