KFC in Lake will open in just 2 weeks’ time, it has been confirmed to Island Echo.
The store at Merrie Farm Park will welcome customers from 12 noon on Wednesday 23rd January 2019.
A ribbon cutting ceremony by local dignitaries will mark the start of the 250sqm outlet’s operation.
It was almost 3 years ago that Island Echo revealed that the global fast food chain intended to open a drive-thru restaurant in Lake, which sits between the towns of Sandown and Shanklin.
Over 50 full-time and part-time jobs are understood to have been created in the area thanks to this new investment by franchisee Amsric Foods Ltd.
KFC currently have just 1 store on the Isle of Wight at Furrlongs in Newport. A second store in Union Street, Ryde closed back in December 2012.
The new store will be the first drive-thru takeaway in the area, the nearest being McDonalds in Ryde or KFC in Newport.
