Police responding to a public order incident discovered 6 cannabis plants growing on the doorstep of a property in Shanklin yesterday afternoon (Monday).
Officers were called to Clarendon Road in the town at around 15:10 when an incident was reported via 999.
Local response and patrol crews were joined by colleagues from the Joint Operations Unit in responding to the emergency, but officers found more than they had bargained for upon arrival at the address.
The occupiers of the property in question were keen to show off their ‘horticultural skills’ by displaying a number of lush green cannabis plants on the back doorstep. Cannabis is a Class B drug and it is illegal in the United Kingdom.
The owner of the thriving plants, which have now been seized, will be invited into Newport Police station for a voluntary interview.

Probably didn’t feel they were bothering or hurting anyone else. Which they absolutely were not.. in fact they were reducing their own carbon footprint as cannabis plants remove more co2 per hectare than any other seed crop.. also kills cancer cells to while it’s at it. Stops little kids having seizures that could kills them. But we all been told drugs are bad so it must be true Right ?
Instead of doing some research people just follow what they are told. Cos that’s easier..

Sadly drugs are now part of British culture that’s why our police invited the Law breaker to the police station, drug culture is now so ingrained into our lives, it’s pointless arguing about drugs.
You will be heavily voted down from most contributers on this media, mostly from younger people, the so called Law on drugs is lost, it’s too late now to do anything about it.
However, those that think they are indestructible from the inevitable consequences of taking drugs will pay a very high price one day.
And guess who will pay the bill for their treatment????
The answer is MAKE drugs LEGAL to buy, BUT ILLEGAL to use.
Then those buying will pay taxes helping fund the NHS for all the coming brain damaged, albeit may were to start with.
Yet they would be fined, jailed or whatever as know, depending on the severity of the use or dealing or driving under the influence etc.
People would smoke such at home, although it was still illegal to do so, they know they would likely ‘get away with it’ so would still buy such. Their children and friends would know it was illegal and so it wouldn’t give a ‘green light’ to drugs, tempting others who may be tempted if ‘legal’ to use.
And scummy low life would have no need to deal, and knife one another as the price would be Government controlled keeping it affordable but HMG would ‘get the profit’ not some benefit defrauding low life. HMG could use the cash to fund those affected by drugs.
THAT is the ONLY feasible solution unless we come down heavy on such, which we all know can never happen as our jails are full of the worlds finest now.
Just need our MP to run with the idea.
You weakened your own argument when you said they were brain dead for using drugs or they are to begin with then go on to write a piece with very low understanding of the English language which says a lot about you as a non drug user and yet still unable to string an understandable sentence together. Proving the point that you can be brain dead and not of used any drugs. And you don’t necessarily do drugs due to being brain dead. Again do your research before judging others.
Nobody will pay the bill the cannabis plant is medicinal it would save the taxpayer money and many lives.
What would arresting them achieve. These are plants that for many have a beneficial or medicinal effect. Including killing of cancer cells among many others. Please do your research Theresa before you judge people. As with 1 in 2 humans contracting a cancer it’s a human right to grow a proven safe natural preventive medicine by safe I mean zero deaths recorded in history as a result of cannabis use. How many of the pills u take or condone your loved ones take can even boast that. And to boot it cost the NHS the taxpayer nothing for this person to self medicate. Drugs exist in this world and your happy about it when you need them like when the dentist numbs you with derivitives of cocaine or puts you to sleep for an op with morphine.
Cannabinoids exist naturally in breast milk. The richest form of Cannabinoids is the cannabis plant. If we aren’t meant to have Cannabinoids why are they in breast milk… good enough for babies clearly…

Bang on GW PHARMACEUTICAL so while the govt punish others for growing cannabis and claim it has no medicinal value and is a harm to society. They are growing it and selling it as a medicinal product. The UK being the largest exporter of “legal” medicinal cannabis. Legal here meaning they grew it and profited off it and not you. Almost like drug cartel behaviour not wanting any competition in the market. If anyone can grow it freely then how would they still make a profit selling it.
They don’t want you to get better as that means no repeat business. They want you to stay sick and come back next week for another pack of little white pills.

Heavy drug dealers often don’t use drugs themself “don’t get high on your own supply” being the motto. It’s often straight people who don’t use drugs that look to profit off of the sick and suffering. That is not a new thing nor is it exclusive to drug’s drug users/dealers or drug culture.
Try having a thought for yourself and do some fact based unbiased research not just what you were force fed. Like paracetamol which is far more harmful and has many more recorded deaths for something you been told and now believe to be “safe” and would eBen give one to a child I bet. The owner of the plants might have been trying to cure there child’s cancer and now they will have to fund the black market to do so. Well done to the boys in blue
