Blackwater Mill Care Home resident Joan recently celebrated her 102nd birthday. Joan’s room was decorated and she was showered with gifts and presents to mark her big day. Over Christmas staff at the home had been talking birthday wishes and she had said she would love to do some ballroom dancing. On the afternoon of the 7th, Strictly Dance IW visited to showcase different dance styles. They shared some of the other famous entertainment stars who shared Joan’s special day before giving her the chance to join in. Joan danced and twirled around the room finishing with a flourish much to the cheers of the room. The other residents enjoyed the opportunity to join the dancing as well before the day finished off with some birthday cake and a hearty rendition of Happy Birthday. Joan’s son thanked those at the home for making her day so special. A spokesperson from Blackwater Mill has said:
