34-yer-old Jamie Hindson is making a monthly donations challenge for the year across the island.
This will either make a difference to people’s well-being, mental health, life changing/experience either through charities, organisations, respite and day/night care services and hoping a little bit each month will help out and make a difference.
This month (January), Jamie has donated £100 to the Mountbatten hospice last week, where he met fundraiser Charlotte Blowhorn.
Jamie explained:
“It was a privilege to see some of the great work our hospice and staff do for our community and felt my January donation to the Mountbatten Hospice was a great cause.”
Jamie will make a further donation in February and continues to support the community.
Some of this his donations and fun-raising events have included:
• 2009 – sponsor silent challenge for buddies club – £100 raised
• 2013 – YMCA sleep rough challenges in Southampton – over £2000+ raised
• 2016 – abseiling down the UK highest waterfall – £100 raised for South West Children Hospice
• 2021 – solo half marathon run – £1000 raised for IW mental health effected in pandemic NHS/St George’s school
• 2024 – NHS Christmas children ward donation – £120 for children in hospital over the Christmas period.
Well done Jamie
