Jake Bugg joined Absolute Radio’s Pete Donaldson backstage for an exclusive interview before he took to the Isle of Wight Festival for the very first time.
Talking about his festival experience so far, Jake said: “This is my first really proper outdoor festival. Certainly festivals are great for introducing new music to people that may not know it or even know you. So it’s great for that.”
Looking forward, Jake wants to put out as much music as possible.
“As someone who listens to music a lot, I can get bored with albums and songs very quickly and you want something to keep refreshing you and keeping you excited so I want to put something out there for people to listen to. At the same time I don’t want to rush it either. I don’t want to put it out there if i’m not happy with it.”
So of you may not have heard of Jake Bugg before, but he is a rising star in Japan and is looking forward to playing more festivals in the far east… “Japan was great man. Like Japan was mad. They have like smoking areas in the street which is really weird. You can’t smoke on the street but you can smoke in bars. I’ve got a couple of festivals out there, like Summer Sonic and all that which is going to be ridiculously humid so I’m led to believe.”
