Penny Langborne will be walking 100km around the Isle of Wight to raise money for Mountbatten Hospice in the Isle of Wight Ultra Challenge at the end of April.
The Isle of Wight woman has been inspired to take part in the gruelling challenge by the end-of-life care provided by the hospice to her father.
Penny says:
“I will be taking part in the Isle of Wight Ultra Challenge which is 100km/62 miles around the Island. I will be taking part to raise money for the Mountbatten Hospice, who really supported us in our time of need caring for my father last year at home with end-of-life care, so this will be in his memory (Dr John Smith who was a Consultant and head of Pathology at St Mary’s for many years).
“The Isle of Wight Ultra Challenge is a 100km/62-mile walk around the coast of the Island at the end of April. Starting early morning and walking through the night until I eventually stumble or crawl over the finishing line hopefully the next day.
“Yesterday, I completed my final training walk of 45 miles and although sore, I have loved every minute of walking around and exploring more of our beautiful Island.”

Good luck Penny, all the best xx
