Isle of Wight singer-songwriter Ben Stubbs’s debut album – Light of My Life – has been released on limited edition vinyl exactly a year after a successful Kickstarter campaign to help fund the recording and production of the music. The album has been available to stream on all major platforms and to buy on CD since its release back in May, and it’s received positive attention from music magazines, radio, and bloggers. The band has some exciting shows in the pipeline, including a few mini-tours. Ben did not have a solid plan to release the album on vinyl, but since the CDs went well, Ben decided to take a chance on pressing vinyl, which is a costly process. Ben has said of the vinyl release:
“The Island community have been incredibly supportive of this project from the start. Island people love Island projects, and there is a pretty strong resurgence within the vinyl world at the moment. “It will be a limited edition run with only 200 available, and once they’re gone, they’re gone. The first 100 will be hand-numbered and signed. “It feels like a really huge achievement for an independent artist like myself to be able to release my music on the ultimate format, and I’m massively grateful to such a hugely supportive fanbase for helping me to hit that next big milestone.”
The LP is currently on display as part of the Isle of Wight Vinyl Exhibition in Ryde. The album can be purchased via email at [email protected] It will also be available from local record stores – including AAA Records in Newport – upon release.
