A 19-year-old Island artist is set to release new music after more than a year away, marking a fresh chapter in his developing career.
Troy, who performs under the name ‘Evo the Rapper’, is preparing to launch his latest single ‘High On Life’ on 1st May, his first release since 2025 track ‘Diamond One’.
The up-and-coming musician says he has spent the past year refining his sound and focusing on producing higher quality, more original material.
Troy, also known as Evo the Rapper, said:
“I’ve taken the time to learn and figure out my craft so I can make better quality music and all around bless more people’s ears.
“This track is about expressing my frustration with some music nowadays and showing I’m not afraid to talk on the matter.”
‘High On Life’ will be available across major streaming platforms including Spotify, Apple Music and SoundCloud.
The release will also be accompanied by a music video, directed and shot by local videographer DoctorbeeVisuals.
Evo has revealed that he already has around 7 tracks either completed or nearing completion, with plans to release new music consistently at least once a month.
Looking further ahead, he is also working towards a larger project featuring an additional 5 songs.
The 19-year-old recently completed a 2-year course at Platform One Music College and continues to create and record his music independently from home on the Isle of Wight.
Evo says his passion for music began at a young age, with his journey as an artist starting around 3 years ago.
