Isle of Wight photographer Paul Blackley has been shortlisted for a prestigious So.Co Award for a stunning shot of Jarvis Cocker taken at the Isle of Wight Festival last year. Paul’s shot was hand-selected by an industry panel and has made the shortlist for Image Of Music ‘People Choice’ Award 2024. The Island snapper has said about taking his amazing shot:
“We weren’t allowed in the pit for Pulp. It had been suggested it was easier to go to the left of the stage as it was easier to get to the front but I decided to try and be a central as possible. “The orchestra started to play and the back drop opened with this huge Moon image when Jarvis Cocker started to rise up out of the stage and I was in the perfect position to capture this iconic shot.”
Anyone wishing to vote for Paul may visit the So.Co Awards Page, then search the page for his image and click on the VOTE button (you’ll need to register to vote). Voting for the award closes 6th March, with the winner being announced at the awards ceremony on 26th March.
