Isle of Wight musician Ben Stubbs has launched a Kickstarter project with the hopes of raising £6,000 to create his very own album entitled: Light of my Life.
Ben needs to raise £6,000 for the hire of a professional recording studio, the production of CDs and the mixing, mastering and marketing of the CD. He has raised nearly £4,000 of the money required to date and needs another £2,000 by 11th January 2023.
He will be producing a limited run of CDs only available to those who pledge via his Kickstarter campaign.
33-year-old Ben has been performing for 10 years and has been fully professional for the past 6 years.
He is a multi-instrumentalist who – as well as singing and playing acoustic guitar – also plays the drums, keys, bass and several other instruments. Ben puts his demo recordings together at his own home studio.
Accompanying Ben on the album are Isle of Wight musicians Ollie Ducie (bass), Robert Berry (drums), and Tommy Burnhams (guitar). It will be recorded at Empire Sound recording studio in Newport.
Ben describes his music as:
“A mix of bluesy folk-pop to country plus rock. It’s a blend of different styles and genres. My main influencers are Jack Johnson, REM, and John Mayer.”
Ben explains the inspiration for his songwriting:
“My songs come from personal experiences. They are about love, loss, getting older and everything about the world that’s interesting.”
