A dedicated Isle of Wight volunteer is preparing to push himself to the limit by taking on a gruelling 106km Ultrathon on Saturday 2nd and Sunday 3rd May in support of men’s mental health.
Mark Lounds, a board member of Mindset Bros CIC, will tackle the Isle of Wight Ultrathon – one of the island’s toughest endurance challenges – in a bid to raise both awareness and funds.
The demanding route spans 106km around the Isle of Wight and will see Mark test his physical and mental resilience to highlight an issue affecting thousands of men across the UK.
Mindset Bros, a community-driven organisation, has grown significantly across the Isle of Wight through weekly Walk & Talk sessions, monthly meet-ups and one-to-one support. Mark has played a key role in helping create a safe, stigma-free space for men to open up.
Speaking ahead of the challenge, Mark Lounds, Board Member at Mindset Bros CIC, has said:
“This isn’t just about the distance.
“It’s about every man who feels like he’s struggling in silence. If this challenge helps even one person speak up or reach out, then every step is worth it.”

Funds raised from the Ultrathon will go directly towards supporting Mindset Bros’ work across the Isle of Wight, helping to provide safe spaces, support networks and opportunities for meaningful conversations.
Ross Taylor, Founder of Mindset Bros, has said:
“Mark embodies everything Mindset Bros stands for. This challenge is huge, but so is the impact it will have.
“We’re incredibly proud of him and the message he’s carrying with every mile.”
The community is being encouraged to get behind Mark and support his efforts to raise vital funds and awareness for men’s mental health.
