Christian Baxter – who has been diagnosed with Grade 3 brain cancer – is to run a marathon in Southampton next month to raise funds for The Wight Brainy Bunch.
His JustGiving page has raised over £1,250 for the charity to date, exceeding his £1,000 target.
The Wight Brainy Bunch is a charity that raises funds to support families affected by brain tumours on the Isle of Wight.
The charity can provide financial assistance to families struggling with the inevitable added expenses that are so often incurred, including travel costs to the mainland for appointments and treatment, loss of earnings, specialist equipment to improve mobility, short breaks and memory making experiences for those with a terminal diagnosis, counselling services, physio and cognitive therapy to aid rehabilitation, as well as any other services deemed beneficial for the patient/family.
Christian has said:
“I am running my first marathon for The Wight Brainy Bunch who have been supporting me and my family for last 18 months. This will take place in Southampton on 6th April 2025.
“I have been diagnosed with Grade 3 brain cancer and I’d be lost without The Wight Brainy Bunch’s help and support.”
