A travel destination website has placed the Isle of Wight in the top 3 of holiday hotspots this Easter.
Big Travel 7, working with global comparison site EnjoyTravel.com, have released a list of 15 UK destinations – and the Island sits proudly at number 3, ahead of Dorset, Brighton and the Cotswolds.
Based on special Easter events and the average cost of stay and family-friendly activities, only London and Glasgow were placed higher than the UK’s favourite holiday island.

“The Isle of Wight has a host of incredible attractions offering a range of activities and some fantastic accommodation for families, so we’re not surprised to be placed this high in the Big Travel 7 top ten this Easter”.

Well best make the most of it now, as another couple of years and all there will be to look at is housing estates

You’re right. How can we seriously market ourselves as a holiday destination when our main “resort” – Sandown (aka Rundown) consists of many empty high street premises and burnt out hotels? Many seaside resorts suffer from poverty to be fair but seeing the prices you pay for caravans, I would be expecting some sun-kissed sparkling jewel set in the calm, welcoming waters of the English Channel. I don’t see criticism as negativity or meaning one hates the island. I want it to be absolutely fantastic for visitors – and residents of course. If people are happy with how it is, you’re part of the problem and it’s you who needs to move.

A/ Ask an Isle of Wighter, their bound to find something “hold on I found something at the bottom of my bag for a rainy day, housing estates, scum from the mainland, don’t like wind farms and/or fracking, global warmings made up.. sure I had another negative comment somewhere, I used those last week.. something to do with Brexit and immigration, oh here it is.. just love to sprinkle misery and prejudice.. can really get to it now I’ve retired to a bungalow with a view, with a lotta time on my hands, so I can really spread it about bigtime”
Remember all the tourist attractions that are gone,they are all now a eyesore or housing ,i for 1 wouldnt pay ferry prices to sit on a beech all day
