The excitement for Isle of Wight Day – which is being held on Saturday 16th September – is building and it’s time to get your bunting out.
This special day is a chance for Island residents to celebrate our heritage and just simply how great it is to live in such as wonderful place.
For the past number of years, this annual event has included the chance to trim your property or local area with special Isle of Wight Day bunting.
Isle of Wight Day has teamed up with 1 of the Island’s most established businesses, Hursts, to help the distribution of this free bunting.
From Friday 1st September, pop into any Hursts store on the Island and collect your free bunting.
The main Isle of Wight Day event this year has the theme of ‘Be A Roman For A Day’.
It takes place at Brading Roman Villa on Saturday 16th September costing just £1 for Island residents, with a packed family fun day in store.
Visit www.isleofwightday.org for full details.

Please no. It is an embarrassment for most island people.
Be a Roman for a day.? You mean keep a slave, throw Christians to the lions in the Isle of Wight zoo.? All right, but apart from the sanitation, the medicine, education, wine, public order, irrigation, roads, a fresh water system, and public health, what have the Romans ever done for us.?
Peace Reg?
Celebrate our heritage, what with the council building all over it and destroying any character the island has left, nice idea and trying hard to make things seem good but try telling that to the powers that be. Try Hurst First though everytime.
Isle of Wight day = paying 50p to use the toilet in Sandown or 40p in Newport
What is Isle if Wight Day really!
Is it a day to celebrate one of the largest Council Taxes in the Country.
