Island Foods has delivered hundreds of kilograms of Isle of Wight lamb to help chef Alex Kimber craft summer dishes for VIP guests at the 2025 Wimbledon championship, which got underway today (Monday).
Continuing what he has done for the last few years, local chef Alex Kimber will be creating summertime dishes for VIP guests at the All England Lawn Club.
The meat on Alex’s menu is supplied by Island Foods, with Steve and Adam Doe heading up to SW19 with the supplies over the weekend.
In the Island Foods haul was; 160kg of lamb breast, 173kg of boneless lamb loin, 51kg of lamb shoulder, 10kg of lamb mince. The Ryde-based business has been supplying the meat for Alex’s menu since 2023.
Taking to their Facebook page, Island Foods has said:
“This is our 3rd year supplying Food and Drink at Wimbledon, and it still feels like a huge privilege every time. Even better, we’re working closely with Alex Kimber, a brilliant chef we regularly supply at Heron IOW.
“There’s something really special about seeing our produce land in kitchens where quality matters. Feeding players, guests, and staff at one of the world’s most iconic events? That’s a grand slam for us.
“We’re incredibly proud to work so closely with farmers across the Isle of Wight, bringing the very best of our Island’s produce to one of the most prestigious stages in the world. Bringing together the Island farmer, the Island butcher, and the Island chef to create some truly exquisite dishes.”
