Isle of Wight author Anna Britton is to release her debut crime fiction novel Shot in the Dark on 26th October.
In her contemporary and engaging new detective series, Anna will delve into the reality of an overstretched police force and explore themes of sexism, biphobia, PTSD, and domestic abuse.
On the ancestral Dunlow Estate, a young woman runs for her life. Gunshots break the silence. The next morning the body of a young student is discovered. DS Gabe Martin is more than ready to take the lead on her first murder case and she’s determined to prove her cold and mysterious DI, Juliet Stern, that she’s up to the job.
But, while there are plenty of suspects, there are few leads and lots of lies.
An avid reader, Anna has been writing for the past 10 years. Largely for herself. She is also a keen kayaker and can often be found on one of the island’s waterways.
Anna will be signing books at Waterstones, Isle of Wight on Saturday 28th October from 11:00 to 13:00. She is also talking at Freshwater Library on 11th November and at the Lord Louis Library on the 18th.
